11 Month Inch Worm Pointer and Babbles

11 months has brought so much change in Tanner's world! He went from being my lazy kid totally not interested in crawling or having to move to get the things he wanted, to squirming like an inch worm ALL OVER the house! He has discovered pulling up on furniture, falling, and giving this poor mama multiple heart attacks! He has discovered the doggie door so if I ever can't find him I need to look outside! He thinks the dogs going in and out is HILARIOUS! The dogs aren't liking his new found mobility much so even in this extereme heat the prefer to be outside and Tanner enjoys teasing them through the window!
I'm gonna get you!

Along with the new mobility, Tanner has become very vocal! He is definitely a very curious kid and now enjoys pointing at objects and babbling! The teacher in me worries that he will point forever instead of talk so I make sure to say the word for each object he points at! Today he saw a picture on the wall (that has been there his whole life) of his daddy and our dog Walker. He pointed at the picture and screamed "Dadda"! This is the first time he has related what he is pointing to with an actual word! It melted my heart and all day as we passed the picture he yelled for his "Dadda"! I know I am going to have a "why" kid and the kid who loves to play 20 questions! Not that our house has ever been quiet, but now it never really will be the same!
Pointing and talking with daddy!

Other 11 month highlights:

*Baby food is getting lame and big people food is way cooler!
*Tanner now wears 12 month clothing
*Size 3 diaper
*Has 5 teeth, 3 on bottom, 2 vampire teeth on top!
*Is in love with swimming (and so is mom cause pool day naps are the best!)
*Tanner still DOESN'T sleep! He is usually up 2-3 times to nurse, but has learned to just pull up my shirt and roll back over when he is done
*Has made some really cool baby friends and is working on being nicer to them
*Is really clingy and hates if I walk more than a foot away
*Is a huge flirt and loves older ladies
Hey Baby!

Swimming is cool!

napping at the pool is even better!

getting wet with daddy at the zoo!

this is my peach! Stay back!

Taking after mama! Maybe a future teacher, but Daisy isn't the best student!

Over all like I always say, he is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I love being a mommy (even through all of the sleepless nights, stretch marks, and jiggles that didn't used to be there) and would give my life for this boy! I have never been so in love and am having a hard time believing that in one month my baby will be a year old! This has been the best 11 months of my life! Happy 11 months booger! Mama loves you!

Where Have We Been?

Well blogging has definitely taken a back burner lately because of all of the fun and not so fun adventures we have encountered in the month of June! It seems like something is always breaking when you own an older home, but thankfully I have a very handy husband and hopefully our bad luck with the house is almost over!

On a high note, Tanner and I have been having a wonderful summer thus far! Tanner is a very wild active kid who loves being out and about, a lot like his mama! Now that it's summer we have more people to hang around with (most of my friends are teachers and are FINALLY off). We have made some new mommy and baby  friends and are both loving it! I love being able to have conversations with people older than 10 months and Tanner is loving bullying playing with new friends! It is really nice getting out and seeing the world through Tanner's eyes! The following pictures will give you a glimpse of our summer so far! Enjoy!
first driving lesson from daddy!

Nothing like kicking back with a good book!

getting ready to smack poor Braylon with the hat he just stole from him! I so have the chunky bully kid of the bunch!

Been teaching Tan body parts and he learned "head", but likes to put things, especially food up there (pinto bean head)

I'm smart, and dirty!

finger painting fun!

cleaning up, not so fun!

after helping (or trying to kill me) brush my teeth everyday I thought it was time for him to get his own! He loves brushing his crazy vampire teeth!

Well that's all for now! Hopefully blogging will come easier after our house is back in order! Off to another pool adventure tomorrow!

Summer Fun

Well we have had a very adventerous week! Tanner is a lot like me, hates being home! We are always on the move and going on many adventures! This has been the first week that we haven't had tornado like winds here in the Land of Enchantment, so we decided to make the most of it (or tried cause our air was polluted with smoke from the AZ fire).
Well to start our week, Tanner had his final Little Gym class! The babies showed off their skills and received their ribbons (which Tanner tried to eat)! It is amazing to see how much the babies in his class have grown, physically and socially! Of course, I would have THE KID who is distracted by a piece of lint on the wall or every car that would drive by the window (it's karma coming back to bite me for being the impatient teacher and complaining about those kiddos in my class). Above all Tanner had a great time, met some friends, and did things that I would be way to scared to do without his teacher Laurie telling me it was okay!  We had such an awesome experience at Little Gym that we enrolled for the summer!
Land Surfing!

Up and around

I did it!!!
The next day we decided to use our handy dandy Zoo pass and check out the ABQ Bio Park! This is by far Tanner's favorite place on Earth! He loves fish and will sit in front of the aquarium for hours if we let him! We took my mother in law and sis in law along on this adventure and we had a blast! Tanner met his fish twin, a fish with the same toothy smile as my kid! Then we got to see a ton of butterflies in the Butterfly Pavilion! I'm not sure if Tanner saw them, but he sure did love eating his sunblock bottle! All in all our week was wonderful! I have so much fun seeing the world through Tanner's eyes! I love that we have this time to spend with one another because he will only be this small for such a short time! Can't wait to see what adventures we will have in the coming weeks!

Gaga for 10 Months!

I have a 10 month old! Yikes! I can't believe how fast my little dude is growing up! Each new stage brings so much joy, fun, and sometimes hair pulling (literally)! Tanner is becoming very independent in some things, but is very attached to his mama! He is very spoiled (by everyone) and hates to be more than an arms reach away from me! This is hard, especially when the house is totaled or I would like to go pee! I keep reminding myself that I will miss these tender moments when he is a teen, but know that I have to start cutting the cord before I return to work in October (which I am dreading lol)!

What's happening in month 10:
*Tan is trying to crawl, but he prefers rolling
*Has 4 teeth and looks pretty funny
*Thinks biting is funny and thinks getting in trouble for it is freakin HILARIOUS (I'm gonna have my hands full with this guy)
*Got a big boy carseat and of course the only one that fits in my stupid car is the most expensive one at the store! Big thanks to daddy for working a side job so we could get it!
*Can say dad, dadee (daisy), and awa (water)
*Has discovered the art of being mean to girls, which really means he likes them (hair pulling incident of 2011, sorry Audrey)
*Loves being outside and pulling the tops off of my flowers in the yard
*Loves eating big people food! His fav is mac n' cheese, chicken, and any kind of bread!
*Loves Lady Gaga (daddy calls her Lady Goo Goo) and goes nuts when her music comes on! And totally freaks if he sees her on tv (DO NOT know where he got this from cause we listen to country all the time)
*Loves spending time away from mommy with his grand parents
*Loves to drive in his NASCAR (fisher price car) all day around our house
*Is getting tan lines in his fat rolls!

I am loving every moment with my kiddo! Even the sleepless nights and screaming fits when I put him down. He is my everything and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life in total awe of him! I can't believe in only 2 short months I will be celebrating his 1st birthday! Crazy!!! I guess I better get started planning his big day!
Woohoo  I love this song!

She's funny mom!

I Should Be Skinny. . . (key word "should be")

Let me first say I love, love, love, being a mommy! I loved being pregnant and honestly can't wait until I am once again, but for right now I don't love what pregnancy has done to my body!!!! I am trapped in a body that doesn't belong to me (well actually it does) and I am sick of it! I lost ALL of my baby weight in about 6 weeks and am happy about that, but was left with saggy skin, love handles that I never had, enormous boobs (which I thought would be awesome pre prego, but they are just stinkin annoying and will probably hang to my belly button after I am done breast feeding), stretch marks that aren't fading, and a very poor self image! Oh and to top it all off, I lost the little bit of butt that I had! Way to go body! Flat butted with a muffin top! The one thing that I can't wrap my sausage arms around is the fact that I NEVER stop moving all.day.long! Tanner is at the stage where he wants me to hold him all day and night. The only way I can get anything done is by pushing him around in his little car for hours on end! I never sit down! Then in the evening I take him for a walk around the neighborhood, other nights my hubby watches him and I endure an hour of hell at spin class! I stopped drinking cokes (well kind of) and NOTHING is making my tummy tight again! Jillian Michael's kicks my behind a few times a week and still nada! I have exactly a month and a half to get my swimsuit body back cause the stupid  great mommy that I am decided to enroll Tanner is swim lessons that I have to be a part of! Swim suit shopping today was a nightmare so to drown my sorrows I went to Wendy's and then my mom made biscochitos and I downed about a dozen. So it's back to Jillian Kick Your Ass Michaels for me tonight. .  . ugh!  I am  seriously considering getting knocked up again so I don't have to worry about weight for another 9 months and can be fat and guilt free!
Tanner driving his car all day long! We have about 100,000 miles on this bad boy so far!

March For Babies

Wow! What a weekend! We were so busy, but had an amazing time! Saturday was the day I had been looking forward to for a very long time! My hubby and I signed up to participate in the March of Dimes Walk. Before having a preemie of our own, we had no clue about this cause! Having Tanner opened our eyes to this cause and it is something that is very near to my heart. Morgan and I raised $150.00 and hope to do better next year. I don't think Morgan realized the importance of this walk until we actually got there and heard stories from parents who had it a whole lot worse than we did. Seeing babies hooked up to oxygen really showed us how blessed we are to have such a healthy little boy! I will walk every year in this event in honor of my little boy and my future children. The chances of me having another preemie and another difficult pregnancy is very high, but hopefully with more research into why premature births occur, I won't have to worry (fingers crossed). I already can't wait until next year!

Weaning and Dr. Brown's

So Tanner is 9 months old and getting to the point where he is practically undressing me when he wants to nurse! This was cute at first, but now it obnoxious! I want to continue nursing until he is a year old, but want to gradually cut down his nursings so my supply drops slowly. So last week I decided to replace his 5pm nursing with a bottle of formula! Tanner was not having it, but I did it all week. Then this week I decided to cut out his 10 am feeding! Tanner's world just about ended and the devil child emerged! He kicks, screams, nuzzles for boob, and finally if he grasps the bottle he will throw it! I feel like a horrible mom, but this HAS to be done! I don't want to be the woman nursing her kid til he's 5! I research, bought every type of bottle there is, asked adivce from other mommies, and I still feel lost! In a perfect world I would only nurse before bed, maybe once if he woke up, and first thing in the morning, but alas it's not perfect! Tanner hates being covered so when he wants to nurse and we are out it's a dressing room or bathroom for this mama!

Proud to announce that we had a small break though today though!  He only drank 3 oz out of a bottle, but it's more than yesterday! Dr. Brown's bottles are my savior!  So far this is the only bottle he likes and will actually drink milk from! I love you Dr. Brown's! And I love my boy more than life itself so it's so hard for me to be tough! It is a miracle that he is here so I feel bad complaining about the bottle issue or his lack thereof  sleeping! I know I have to get tough because one day he will be a teenager, but it's hard with a face like this!
My future cowboy! Love you even though you give me a hard time!
